Aquarium Illusions is Alberta’s only saltwater retailer that operates TRUE quarantine facilities. Our Quarantine Systems are fully independent therefore there is no risk of disease transmission between tank to tank.

All of our fish are quarantined to ensure they are healthy, eating and adjusted to aquarium living. When a new shipment arrives, they are slowly acclimated and housed in their own independent system in the quarantine facility. They are held there until they are fully adjusted to the aquarium environment, eating and in the best of health.

Each system is tested and tracked daily. We use a medical model for the tracking and recording the progress of each fish. All parameters are strictly monitored and fish are fed twice per day with the healthiest mixture of foods and supplements.

Our Quarantine Facility is setup with four separate banks of aquariums, totaling more than 1500 gallons. Each system has independent filtration and U.V. sterilization. It is our belief that ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’. We take care of our fish in an ethical and highly accountable manner. Other retailers do not quarantine due to the additional expense, but will feel that quarantining is the only way to operate an aquarium shop that cares for both its livestock and its customers.
