Aquarium Illusions is a 5000 square foot store with many departments to service your needs and cover all aspects of the aquarium hobby. The following is a mini summary of the Departments and Services we offer. Please see the Main Menu for more comprehensive information per department.
OUR STORE DEPARTMENTS:
AQUARIUMS
We carry Stock Aquariums, Stands, Cabinetry and standard size Sumps & Filters. We also specialize in Custom Designed & Built Aquariums, Custom Cabinetry, Custom Filtration, and Custom Terrariums. Our Design Consultants can work with you to design the perfect aquarium for your location & budget.
PRODUCTS
At Aquarium Illusions Inc, you will find a diverse and complete selection of all your aquarium and pond needs. We supply a range of products from the basic starter kits to the most complex systems on the market today. Our entire store is 100% dedicated to supplying you with aquarium and pond products. Chances are if you can’t find it here, you won’t find it anywhere. In the event we don’t have something, we’ll certainly try our best to get it for you at the best price possible.
LIVESTOCK
We carry 500 – 600 species of Freshwater Fish, Saltwater Fish, Saltwater Corals, Invertebrates, Ponds Fish, Live Rock & Plants. We will also special order specific fish for you. We always carry a selection of captive breed and captive raised livestock.
QUARANTINE DEPARTMENT
Aquarium Illusions has a large Quarantine Facility where we independently house & monitor our saltwater fish for 2 weeks prior to release for sale. We take these extra measures to ensure that our customers receive the healthiest livestock available on the market.
CORAL FARM
Aquarium Illusions continually strives to take measures to preserve our coral reefs. We operate a state of the art Coral Farm and Frag Production Facility. We work cooperatively with research & educational facilities to advance conservation techniques. We only deal with environmental conscious collectors.

PROFESSIONAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES
Aquarium Illusions has a team of Professional Maintenance Service Technicians serving Edmonton and surrounding communities. Enjoy your aquarium with never getting your hands wet! We maintain aquariums in residential, professional, and commercial settings (10 gallon to 500+ gallon systems). We offer a great selection of Maintenance Package Options to meet your needs. We also provide emergency call out services.
INSTALLATION & SET UP SERVICES
With Aquarium Illusions Installation Services, you can have your aquarium set up by the experts. Just tell us where you want it, and we will do the rest. Our technicians will take care of everything including filling it up and checking the whole system before we turn it over to you. You even get a lesson on your system including how it works, basic maintenance ( if you choose not to take advantage of our maintenance services), water testing, setting light timers, when to add fish and much, much, more.
TANK RELOCATION SERVICES
Moving an aquarium can seem like a big job if you aren’t geared up for it.
Your aquarium and livestock will be in good hands with our Relocation Team. We do this type of thing daily and come equipped to move your tank and your fish with the least amount of stress possible. Whether you need to move it ten feet or across the country we can help you do it right.
DESIGN AND CONSULTATION SERVICES FOR AQUARIUMS & PONDS
Aquarium Illusions has an amazing portfolio of different designs we have completed since 1998. We will work with you personally, with your designer or with your builder to create a beautiful and functional system. Our experience and expertise in this area is untouchable in the industry. We have designed and installed every type of system imaginable. We provide our in house consultation services for free. You will own this system for years to come and we acknowledge the importance of setting it up correctly the first time. Besides the overall aesthetics of the system, we also concentrate on the functionality and ease of operation.
If you are looking for a Pond, Aquarium Illusions has 7 years experience professionally designing and installing both indoor and outdoor features. Our pond consultation services will help you choose placement, design, equipment needs, fish & plant stocking, and much more. We can coach the Do-It-Yourselfer, or recommend some reputable contractors to complete your project.
PERSONALIZED FISH STOCKING PLAN CONSULTATION
Aquarium Illusions is committed to your success in the hobby. Our experienced staff will personally assist you with a free stocking plan for your aquarium based on your wants, your systems capability, and compatibility of species. We will work with you to develop a comprehensive stocking plan and timeline. This service will take 90% of the guess work out of ‘who will play nice with others’. Fish can sometimes have unpredictable personalities so it is not an exact science, but there are definite guidelines and recommendations you should follow.
