Fauna Marin Ultralith System

Aquarium Illusions has recently started to carry the Fauna Marin Ultralith system and we've very excited about it. The basis of the Ultralith system is similar to other zeolite based probiotic systems but Fauna Marin's approach to the system is unique in it's simplicity. The excellent product support offered by Fauna Marin really makes this system a wonderful offering.

The components of the Ultralith System provide you a effective and controllable nutrient reduction in the aquarium, a significant increase in coral coloration, and magnificent polyp extensions. Numerous test tanks document the unique success not only in the husbandry of stony corals.

	Zeolites are special minerals that use ion exchange to capture ammonium from the water. They also provide a porous surface for the colonization of heterotrophic bacteria that consumes this ammonium. UltraLith is a specially formulated Zeolite for reduction of nutrient concentrations in marine aquaria. This Zeolite provides nitrate- and ammonium-reducing bacteria an ideal environment. By using a composition of different Zeolites, carefully selected for their specific physical and chemical properties, this filter medium will reduce nutrient concentrations fast and effectively.
	UltraBio is a mix of highly active bacteria, specifically formulated for the Ultralith system. This bacteria mix will prevent a monoculture in the filter and promotes the rapid processing of nutrients in the filter. UltraBio is a mix of several nitrifying and denitrifying bacterial populations that were carefully selected for their ability to convert ammonia to nitrite, nitrite to nitrate and nitrate to nitrogen gas. Please add UltraBio at the beginning of using the Ultralith system and after an exchange of Ultralith.
	UltraBak is a nutrient solution for bacteria commonly found in a marine aquarium. After addition of UltraBak bacteria will grow rapidly and thereby will convert unwanted nutrients like nitrite, nitrate and phosphate into biomass. The bacteria will either be skimmed off or taken up by corals and filter feeders, thereby providing an additional source of natural food. Most corals can also directly utilize UltraBak as an energy source. UltraBak is suitable for aquaria with of without Zeolite filtration
	Ultramin S is a nutrient solution and food additive, specially developed for filter feeders, corals and clams. Due to its special formula it is taken up extremely fast. Polyps will expand much further and the protective mucus membrane of the corals will be strengthened. Greatly aides the buildup of coral tissue, nutrients will be transported into the coral/clam much more efficiently. The corals will expand and take up more particulate food, the natural coloration will be enhanced. UltraMin S contains all all Amino acids, Vitamins, and over 70 trace elements.

Extra supplementing of depleted minerals and micronutrients (trace elements) in reef tanks is required because of the enhanced growth rates of corals when using the Ultralith system. Fauna Marin provides a complete product line for the easy supplementation of macro nutrients and these essential trace elements.

Fauna Marine Blueline Reactor

The best way to use the Ultralith Zeolites is in an upwelling reactor. The Fauna Marin Blueline reactor is an in sump reactor designed to provide even flow trough the zeolite media. The addition of the stirring handle makes agitating the zeolite stones easy.
