Green River Fossils

Clear out!  All Remaining Fossils 40% Off!

Now Available at Aquarium Illusions, fossils from the Green River Formation in Wyoming.  Green River fossils are considered to be of the highest quality due to fine grained nature of the limestone.  These beautiful specimens were hand collected and have been verified by Dr. Brian D.E. Chatterton of the University of Alberta to be of the Eocene Series, and have been dated as being about 50 - 60 million years old.

Each Limestone tile contains the fossil remains of fish, invertabrates or plants.  They have been professionally prepared and are often sold to museums and private collectors around the world.  We currently have tiles containing the fossils of fish from the genera: Knightia, Diplomystus, Priscacara and Mioplosus.  As we are working directly with the collector, we are able to bring in a large variety of size, species and quality.

These museum quality pieces make excellent gifts for the avid aquariast and are available in a range of sizes to suit any decor.  They make excellent wall hangings and can also be incorporated into decorative tile work for mantels, fireplaces and waterwalls.
