The KEY to acclimating coral is PATIENCE!!

Coral Acclimation Steps
  1. Fill 2 containers with aquarium water,  enough to submerge corals completely
(1 container for rinsing & 1container for performing dip)
  2. Open bags and gently place the coral into the first container of aquarium water.  Small Polyp Stony and Large Polyp Stony corals are tied to pieces of Styrofoam for shipping.  This is to prevent the corals skeleton from being damaged by the bag. Leave the corals attached to the styro foam for the acclimation process.  (ensure the water in the container is deep enough to float the coral)
  3. Add the antiseptic solution according to manufacturer?s instructions to the 2nd container.  Ensure to match dosage to the amount of water in the container
  4. Move Corals from the 1st container into the 2nd dip solution container.
  5. Leave the corals in the dip for no longer than the instructions specify.
  6. Remove coral from the dip solution and return the coral back into the 1st container.  This is to rinse off any residual antiseptic before placement into your aquarium.
  7. Transfer the corals to the main system.  Place them appropriately to their light and water flow requirements.  Some sensitive corals may require lower placement for 24 hours to adjust to the brightness of the aquarium lighting.

NOTE:  DO NOT DIP Sponges, clams, anemones, or tube worms.  DO NOT expose sponges to oxygen.
