Acropora are small polyp stony (SPS) corals made up of individual polyps living in a colony sharing tissue. SPS normally grow in shallow waters in bright light with high water motion and serve as the foundation for many of the worlds reefs. Acropora species are some of the most challenging to keep in the home aquarium. Bright lighting, good water movement and pristine stable water conditions are necessary in order to get these corals to thrive.
