Bubble Coral, Green (Plerogyra sinuosa), 4-6''
The Bubble Coral is a beautiful LPS coral that originates from the reefs of the Indo-Pacific. It has a white-ridged exoskeleton that can be seen when the polyps deflate. When inflated, the large fleshy polyps will cover the entire skeleton, and are usually green, but can also be white or yellowish in color. Resembling a group of bubbles,it is therefore refered to as a Bubble Coral.
The Bubble Coral can be semi-agressive and has stinging sweeper tentacle that can be a few inches in length, so space from neighbouring corals is suggested. Requires a moderate level of lighting and moderate flow. The fleshy polyps of Bubble Corals are very fragile and will puncture or tear easily. Be careful when handling these corals, only handle them by the hard skeleton.
It will benefit from additional food fed weekly in the form of brine shrimp or micro-plankton.
