Siamese Algae Eater
Siamese Algae Eater (Crossocheilus siamensis) * Please note we do not ship live fish through Canada Post*
An omnivore, the Siamese Algae Eater is not a particularly finicky eater, and is the ideal candidate for eating algae off of live plant leaves
The Siamese Algae Eater is a great fish for the community aquarium. It prefers a planted aquarium with many broad-leaved plants on which it can rest on. It also requires these plants and rocks for grazing algae. This species can be kept with a variety of tank mates including more passive community fish.
Unfortunately, the breeding habits of the Siamese Algae Eater have not been documented.
A good tempered fish can be a decent tankmate for unaggressive fishes, it's better not to keep with long-finned fish as Siamese algae eater may nip at their fins.
